Shipping Updates

SHIPPING UPDATE 7/13/25

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share another update on BoxPlates shipping progress.

I know these delays have been frustrating—I feel it too. I base my updates on what my manufacturer communicates to me, and unfortunately, a lot of this has been out of my direct control. That said, I’ve been pushing hard on my end—making calls daily, staying on them for updates, and doing everything I can to speed things up.

The good news: all of the gray and white BoxPlates are now fully completed and ready to ship to me. And finally—after a long and painful process—the black version has a final solution.

The black parts were the most problematic due to visible flow lines and surface markings that I wasn’t comfortable shipping to you. We tried multiple fixes, each one seeming like it would work—only to hit another roadblock. But after exhausting every method, we've landed on a post-processing technique that delivers a flawless finish. You can see the results in the attached image.

This additional step does add time to production, but I’m confident it’s worth it. I’d rather delay the release than send a product I’m not proud of—especially after you’ve waited so patiently.

To give you a timeline:

  • The post-processing on the black units should take about two more weeks.

  • After that, they’ll be shipped to me using a faster-than-usual shipping method that takes around 20–25 daysinstead of the usual 30–38.

Once they arrive, I’ll be working non-stop to get all remaining pre-orders out the door. This means we’re looking at August for final deliveries.

Nobody wants these shipped more than I do. It’s why I’ve barely posted on YouTube lately—this has taken over my full focus. I’m committed to delivering the best possible version of BoxPlates, and I really appreciate your continued patience and support.

Thank you,
Devyn

SHIPPING UPDATE 6/12/25

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a quick but important update on where things stand with BoxPlates.

Production is still underway, but we’ve run into one last frustrating setback. As the manufacturer began the large-batch production, they discovered an additional defect that hadn’t shown up during earlier test runs. They discovered a surface defect on the top panel — subtle swirling marks on the top panel. This kind of issue (called “flow lines” in injection molding) can happen when plastic cools unevenly during the molding process, especially on large, flat areas. That issue has now been fully resolved — but it did cause another delay.

As frustrating as this is — for you and for me — I’d much rather take the extra time to fix the issue than ship a product that doesn’t meet the quality you deserve.

The updated parts are actually looking better than the samples I originally approved. The matte surface texture is smoother and more refined, and the ventilation lines are coming out even cleaner and more precise than before. So while this delay sucks, I believe the final result will be worth it.

That said, our timeline has shifted. Instead of my shipment arriving in the first half of June, its now expected to land in Late July to Early August.

The parts actively being made right now. It's taken longer than any of us expected, but everything is in motion and I’ll be shipping orders as soon as they arrive.

Thanks so much for sticking with me through this. If you’ve got questions or need to make changes to your order, just shoot me a message. I’m doing everything I can to make this right and appreciate your patience more than I can say.

I know this is a tough wait, especially for early supporters — and I don’t take that lightly. I’ve been pushing the factory every day for updates, and I’m doing everything I can to get these in your hands as soon as humanly possible.

SHIPPING UPDATE 5/21/25

Thank you for your continued support and patience. I wanted to share a quick update on the status of your Boxplate order.

The final samples for all versions of the Boxplate shells arrived last week, and I’m very happy with how they turned out. Now that the tooling is complete, full-scale molding of the shells is underway.

The clip shelves, which are manufactured through a separate process, are currently in production. I also made one final minor revision to correct a small surface blemish I noticed in the samples. This small adjustment should result in a cleaner, more consistent finish.

The first batch of completed units is being shipped to me via international express service. While it’s technically “overnight,” international delivery typically takes about three to four days. I expect to receive the shipment within the first half of June.

Once the parts arrive, please note that it will take me several days to box, label, and ship each order. I appreciate your patience while I work through fulfillment as quickly and carefully as possible.

I’ll continue to provide updates as things progress. Thank you again for your support.

SHIPPING UPDATE 4/21/25

First batch shipments (orders placed before March 15th) are now expected to go out the last week of May, instead of the originally planned late April date. All other orders are pushed from late May to late June.

Tooling and manufacturing are taking longer than anticipated — mainly due to the complexities of supporting multiple PS5 versions at launch, along with some late-stage revisions I made to improve the final product. On top of that, the tariff situation has flooded the manufacturer with orders from customers who are ahead of me in the production queue.

It’s incredibly important to me that these cover plates live up to the standard your console deserves.

Because of these delays, I’ll be receiving the final revised production samples at the end of this month. Once they arrive, I’ll be putting together an update video to show you all the improvements made throughout this process — including enhanced thermals and other refinements.

I know you are excited to receive them, and I can’t thank you enough for your patience and support. I’m doing everything I can behind the scenes to speed things up.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reply directly to this email.

Thank you
